Lasagna
Preparation
- Serving Size: 10
- Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 box lasagna noodles
- 1.25 lb. italian-style turkey
- 16 oz ricotta cheese
- 16 oz Mozzarella cheese - grated
- 1 1/2 (6oz) cup parmesan cheese
- 1 jar (10oz) tomato sauce (Ragu)
- 1 egg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large skillet, brown ground beef, drain. Stir in tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Prepare cheese filling. Add grated Mozzarella cheese, Ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, in a bowl. Beat 1 egg add to cheese mixture and set aside. Mix cheeses and egg in a separate bowl with parsley and spices. Save back about 2 cups of the Mozzarella for the top.
- Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Lightly grease bottom and sides of a 9x13 pan. Spoon in enough meat sauce to cover the bottom, top with strips of cooked lasagna, spread enough cheese filling to cover lasagna. Continue layering ingredients in this order: pasta, cheese filling, and meat sauce. The more meat sauce used, the soupier the lasagna. Ending with meat sauce as last layer, sprinkle Parmesan cheese generously over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. (This can be prepared the day before if desired. Seasoning seems to blend better when prepared the day before.)
- Refrigerated lasagna must stand at room temperature for about 1 hour, then bake for about an hour in 350 degree oven.
